'King Charles of France' probably refers to Charles IX of France (1550-1574)

Unidentified

'Henry VII's daughter and wife of James IV of Scotland' refers to Margaret Tudor (1489-1541)

This painting was clearly the prototype used for Daniel Mytens's posthumous portrait which was also in Charles I's collection (recorded in Van der Doort, Bear Gallery, WS 4. no. 17) and is still in the Royal Collection today (RCIN 401181).

Unidentified

'Henry VII's Queen' refers to Elizabeth of York (1466-1503)

This may be a copy of the portrait mentioned by Van Der Doort in WS 31, no.51 (RCIN 403445).

Arthur, Prince of Wales (1486-1502)

This composition occurs in many versions and is recorded by the one in the Royal Collection, cited here, with which it is a possible match. Another was formerly in the H. Clifford Smith collection (1960)

Henry VIII

Original measurements presumably incorrect; Prince Arthur confused with Henry VIII

Henry VIII (1491-1547)

Note that the work cited here is only a possible match/version of the seventeenth-century record. If the Thyssen portrait is to be matched with the record, it must have been somewhat cut down. Holbein's Thyssen portrait would have been of a high quality in comparison with the rest of this Privy Gallery set
