No pre-Charles I provenance is given in the inventory for Titian’s stormy St Margaret triumphing over the devil in the form of a dragon believed to be the work recently sold at Sotheby's, cited here, formerly Heinz Kisters collection, Kreuzlingen. The original version is in the Prado (no. 445).

 "Qu. if not Lord Harcourt's" annotation added by Horace Walpole to the corresponding entry in his copy of George Vertue, Catalogue and Description of King Charles I's Capital Collection.. (1757) in the Surveyor's office, St James's Palace [the picture sold at Sotheby's once belonged to Lord Harcourt]
